Nandanar is an Indian devotional film released in 1942, based on the story from Gopalakrishna Bharathiyar's Nandan Charithram, a popular Harikatha musical work.
The film was directed by Muruga Dossa and produced by S. S. Vasan under Gemini Studios. The screenplay was written by Ki. Ra. (Ki. Ramachandran), with music composed by M. D. Parthasarathy and S. Rajeswara Rao.
The main lead roles were portrayed by M. M. Dandapani Desikar, who played the titled role of Nandan, and Serukalathur Sama. Supporting actors included M. R. Swamynathan and Sundari Bai. Actor Ranjan appeared as Lord Shiva in one scene within the film.
