Naattiya Rani is a 1949 Tamil-language dance film directed by T. S. Balaiah from Kalakshetra Foundation.
The story revolves around Shanthala, a young girl who dreams of fame through classical dance after seeing students at her village swamy's ashram. Believing this dream, she worships Lord Shiva and eventually has her wish fulfilled.
Impressed by her devotion and perfect execution of mudhras while dancing to his treatise on Natya (classical dance), the King of Hoysala, Vishnuvardhana, witnesses her talent.
The film stars Vasundhara Devi, B. S. Saroja, K. Thavamani Devi and T. S. Balaiah.
