Naan Petra Selvam is a 1956 Indian Tamil-language drama film directed by K. Somu and written by A. P. Nagarajan.
The film stars Sivaji Ganesan and G. Varalakshmi, and tells the story of Shekar, the son of Mirasdar Gunaseelan, who learns about his cousins Gowri and Sundar's difficult circumstances and attempts to help them despite his father's opposition.
Shekar leaves home with his cousins, leading to a conflict between Gunaseelan and his accountant Vajram, who seeks to exploit the family rift for personal gain alongside his wife Vadamalligai. A subplot concerns Gunaseelan opposing his son Arivumathi's marriage to Ezhilarasi due to her lack of wealth.
Tragedy strikes when Sundar leaves the group feeling like a burden and later dies in an accident. Shekar marries Gowri, but Sundar's departure ultimately leads to this devastating outcome.
The film was released on 14 January 1956.
