Naan Adimai Illai is a 1986 Indian Tamil-language romantic drama film directed by Dwarakish and starring Rajinikanth as Vijay, a middle-class photographer, opposite Sridevi in the titular role.
The film serves as a remake of the earlier Hindi movie "Pyar Jhukta Nahin" and depicts the story of their forbidden love and eventual struggle against societal barriers represented by her father. Vijay falls in love with Priya, a rich girl, and they marry against her parents' wishes.
However, their marriage is soon on the rocks due to the difference in their backgrounds. After a fight, Priya goes back to her parents' house, where she becomes pregnant. Her father coerces her into filing for divorce from Vijay, but she gives him the slip and goes to Vijay's house.
Years later, Priya discovers that Vijay has taken care of their son, who is revealed to be alive. The film follows their reunion as they are united again.
The film was produced by Dwarakish Chitra and ran for 75 days in all major cities before becoming a box office failure.
