Naalaiya Theerpu is a 1992 Tamil-language vigilante film directed by S.A. Chandrasekhar and produced by his wife Shoba Chandrasekhar. The film marks the debut leading role for their son Vijay, alongside Keerthana and Easwari Rao.
The story centers on Mahalakshmi (played by Keerthana), who suffers abuse from her husband Arun Mehta (Vijay). He is unfaithful to her, involving multiple women in his affairs. Following a pregnancy resulting from this abusive relationship and the subsequent birth of their son, the narrative takes an unexpected turn where the child ultimately seeks vengeance against his father's actions.
The film features supporting performances from Srividya, Radha Ravi, and Sarath Babu, with music composed by Manimekalai. Cinematography was handled by R.P. Imayavaramban, and editing was done by Gautham Raju.
Naalaiya Theerpu was released on December 4, 1992, to mostly negative reviews and became a box-office bomb. Despite this, Vijay won the Cinema Express Award for Best New Face Actor for his performance in this movie.
