My Dear Marthandan is a 1990 Indian Tamil-language film directed by Pratap Pothen and produced by Sivaji Productions. The story follows Marthandan, who leaves his palace home with his parents to find a suitable girl in Chennai.
There, he meets Idea Mani, a cunning character who attempts to exploit Marthandan's innocence for financial gain through comical means. He also meets Rani at a bakery and develops an interest in her.
