Synopsis
Murattu Kaalai is a 2012 Tamil-language action film directed by K. Selva Bharathy and produced by Amirtham Gunanidhi.
The film stars Sundar C, Sneha, Sindhu Tolani, Suman, and Vivek in supporting roles, with music composed by Srikanth Deva.
The movie is a remake of the 1980 film of the same name and follows the story of Kaalaiyan, a simple person and the best jallikattu player in his village, whose world revolves around his four younger brothers.
Varadharajan, a zamindar from a neighboring village who lives an extravagant lifestyle, becomes involved with Priya, Varadharajan's sister, after Kaalaiyan wins a Jallikattu. The film also features Saroja, Varadharajan's transgender aide.
The movie was released on June 15, 2012, but received negative reviews and failed to replicate the success of the original.
