Mudhal Idam is a 2011 Indian Tamil-language romantic comedy film directed by R. Kumaran and produced by AVM Productions.
The film stars Vidharth as Mahesh, a thug in Thanjavur who aims to become the number one rowdy with his name topping the list of wanted criminals in the local police station. For his mother, Kalairani, Mahesh is the best son on earth, and she earns her livelihood running an idly shop.
He meets Mythili (Kavitha Nair), a school student and daughter of a bus conductor Ilavarasu, who falls for him despite their social differences. However, things take a turn when Karuppu Balu (Kishore), the number one rowdy in the area, comes out of jail.
Mahesh incurs the wrath of an aspiring MLA, and Mythili elopes from her house, forcing Mahesh to kill Balu. The movie ends with a strong message.
The film also stars Kavitha Nair as Mythili and Ilavarasu in a supporting role, Ponnusamy. AVM Productions marks its 175th production with this film.
