Moondru Pillaigal, released in 1952 as "Three Sons," is a Tamil drama film produced and directed by S. S. Vasan.
The story revolves around Gunavathi and Somasekhar, a couple with three sons. The youngest son takes responsibility for a theft allegedly committed by his brothers and goes to jail, leading the dejected father to commit suicide and abandon his mother.
Left alone, Gunavathi faces neglect from her surviving sons. When the imprisoned youngest son is released without employment, he chooses to support his jobless mother instead.
The film stars S. Nagendra Rao alongside Kannamba, with M. K. Radha, Gemini Ganesan, and Sriram in supporting roles.
Moondru Pillaigal was simultaneously produced and released in Telugu under the title Mugguru Kodukulu.
The film is based on Victor Fleming's 1927 American film The Way of All Flesh.
