Miss Malini is a 1947 Indian Tamil-language satirical film written and directed by Kothamangalam Subbu, who also starred in it alongside Pushpavalli and M. S. Sundari Bai.
The film features its lead characters as Malini (Pushpavalli) and Sundari (M. S. Sundari Bai), with Javar Seetharaman and Gemini Ganesan making their acting debuts in minor roles.
Produced by K. Ramnoth, the story centers on Malini, an impoverished woman who joins her friend Sundari's theatre company, Kala Mandiram. She achieves success within the troupe but faces complications when she befriends a charlatan named Sampath (Subbu).
The film humorously critiques aspects of life in Madras during the World War II period and was noted for being the only story adapted from R. K. Narayan's writings to appear on screen at that time.
Miss Malini was released on September 26, 1947, accompanied by Cinema Kadambam, the first animated film produced in South Indian cinema.
