Synopsis
Manikanda is a 2007 Indian Tamil-language action film directed by Selva.
The film stars Arjun in a dual role, playing both his father and son, alongside Jyotika as Mahalakshmi/Madhumita, the love interest. The story follows Raja's journey from Mumbai to Madurai after meeting Mahalakshmi, who invites him to meet her family.
The film is a remake of the 2000 Telugu movie Jayam Manadera and was completed by mid-2005, but faced delays before its release in 2007. The soundtrack was composed by Deva, with the song "Mama Mama" from Kumudham being remixed for this film.
Arjun plays a key role in the dual lead of the movie, while Jyotika stars as Mahalakshmi/Madhumita. Ashish Vidyarthi plays Mahalakshmi's father, who wants Raja dead due to his involvement with his daughter.
