Synopsis
Maithanam is a 2011 Indian Tamil-language film directed by M. S. Shakthivel.
The story revolves around the lives of four friends who change when one of them loses his sister, leading them to unravel a mystery about her disappearance.
As they delve deeper, they are driven into a web of betrayal.
The film stars four assistant directors, M. A. Kennedy, Suresh Guru, Jyothi Raj, and Sekhar, as the lead actors, alongside Swasika as Shanthi and Agathiyan as Velu.
Maithanam was released on May 20, 2011, and received rave reviews upon its release. The film was screened at the 2011 Dubai International Film Festival with the tagline "Life is a Game."
The production was financed by producers S David and T Sathish Kumar, who chose four assistant directors to be the lead actors.
