Maharasan is a 1993 Indian Tamil-language comedy film directed and co-written by G. N. Rangarajan.
The film stars Kamal Haasan and Bhanupriya, with supporting roles played by Ramesh Aravind, Chandrasekhar, Goundamani, Senthil, Vadivelu, V. K. Ramasamy, Raghavi, and Vadivukkarasi.
The story revolves around Vadivelu, a butcher who lives with his 16-year-old sister Rani in a slum. His neighbour Selvi is in love with him, but he proposes that she marry first before considering her as his partner. However, Rani falls in love with Ramesh, and Selvi disguises herself to help them unite.
The film follows the subsequent events as Paramasivam, a rich man, discovers that one of his sons is not biologically his own. The story unfolds as both sons try to win over their father's wealth and acceptance.
