Magaraasi (1967), also known as "Blessed Girl," is a Tamil-language film directed by M. A. Thirumugam.
The movie stars Jayalalithaa and Ravichandran, with Nagesh in the supporting cast.
The film marks the directorial debut of Thirumugam and features the music composition debut of the renowned duo Shankar–Ganesh, who were recommended by poet Kannadasan to producer Sandow M. A. Chinnappa Thevar.
Released on 14 April 1967 during Puthandu, "Magaraasi" faced competition from another film released that day and was not successful at the box office.
The music was composed by Shankar–Ganesh making their debut. It was poet Kannadasan who recommended the name of the duo to the producer Sandow M. M. A. Chinnappa Thevar.
