Synopsis
Maattrraan is a 2012 Indian Tamil-language action thriller film directed by K. V. Anand and produced by AGS Entertainment.
The film stars Suriya in dual roles as conjoined twin brothers, along with Kajal Aggarwal in the female lead. The ensemble supporting cast includes Sachin Khedekar as Ramachandran, a genetic scientist who becomes a multimillionaire after his energy drink, Energion, gains popularity.
The story follows Ramachandran's life after his conjoined twin sons are born. As they grow up, their differing personalities lead to a series of events that puts them in danger when foreign companies try to steal the formula for his energy drink, Energion.
Principal photography began on 22 July 2011, with a major portion of the film shot in the Balkan region and Latvia. The film features music composed by Harris Jayaraj and cinematography handled by Soundararajan. Editing was done by Anthony, with visual effects handled by V. Srinivas Mohan.
The film was released on 12 October 2012 to mixed reviews.
