Lalitha is a 1976 Indian Tamil-language drama film directed by Valampuri Somanathan and produced under Girnar Films banner.
The story revolves around Lalitha, a wealthy woman who marries Professor Shankar. However, her mother-in-law constantly humiliates them due to their differing social status. This leads to an argument between Lalitha and her husband, causing them to separate temporarily.
The narrative subsequently focuses on how they reunite after he has moved away.
The film stars Sujatha in the title role, with Gemini Ganesan, Kamal Haasan, and Sumithra playing other pivotal roles. It is a remake of the Bengali film Saat Pake Bandha (1963).
