Laila Majnu is a 1950 Indian Tamil-language historical romance film directed by F. Nagoor.
The story is based on the Arabic tale of Layla and Majnun, featuring T. R. Mahalingam as Majnu and M. V. Rajamma as Laila in the lead roles.
Produced under the banner Balaji Pictures by F. Nagoor, with funding from M. K. Thyagaraja Bhagavathar, the film also involved Vallikkannan writing dialogues, Jitten Bannerji handling cinematography (with P. S. Selvaraj as cameraman), V. B. Nataraja Mudaliar editing, and F. Nagoor providing art direction.
Choreographed by Hiralal, Ganesh, and Joshi, the movie was filmed at Newtone studios. It included a few colour sequences amidst its black-and-white footage.
Laila Majnu was released on 1 March 1950 but did not perform well commercially at the box office.
