Synopsis
Kudumbam is a 1984 Indian Tamil-language drama film directed by S. A. Chandrasekhar.
The film stars Vijayakanth, Devisri, Jaishankar, and Sujatha, and follows the story of Vijay, who falls in love with Devi. Their marriage takes place with the empowerment of Shankar and her sister Vijaya. However, after giving birth to a baby, Devi suddenly dies, leading to an argument within the family.
Vijay decides to divide his household and takes custody of his daughter, but runs away with Raja, son of Vijaya. Both children are left in difficult circumstances on the streets, until they find protection from Latha. The film concludes with Vijay and Latha helping them, while bringing the family closer together.
The soundtrack was composed by Gangai Amaran, and the film was released on 22 November 1984.
