Synopsis
Kottai Mariamman is a 2001 Indian Tamil-language Hindu devotional film directed and produced by Rama Narayanan.
The film features Roja in the title role alongside Karan and Devayani, with Vadivelu playing a supporting role.
The movie's soundtrack was composed by Deva, with lyrics written by Kalidasan and Snehan.
The story revolves around Durga, who is taken care of and raised by Kottai Mariamman. Mantramoorthi tries to take away Kottai Mariamman's golden eye petals, which have divine powers, but is defeated by the titular character with the help of Eshwar, an atheist whose wife Rajeshwari is a great devotee of Kottai Mariamman.
The film was released in December 2001 and received positive reviews from critics. It was dubbed in multiple languages, including Telugu, Hindi, Odia, and Bhojpuri.
