Kaveri is a 1955 Indian Tamil-language film directed by D. Yoganand and produced by Lena Chettiar. The film stars Sivaji Ganesan, Padmini, and Lalitha.
The story revolves around two rival kings, with Sivaji Ganesan playing the son of one of the kings. He falls in love with a dancer (Padmini) while working to prevent his father's manipulative advisor from achieving their designs.
The film also features Lalitha as the daughter of the other king and Veerappa as the wily advisor of the rival king. The movie was released on January 12, 1955, and was shot simultaneously in Telugu as Vijaya Gauri with a slightly different cast.
The music for Kaveri was composed by G. Ramanathan, Viswanathan–Ramamoorthy, and C. S. Jayaraman, with lyrics by Udumalai Narayana Kavi. The film was a box office success, running for 100 days in many centers of the state.
