Synopsis
Kathikappal is a 2008 Indian Tamil-language thriller film written and directed by Dinesh Selvaraj in his debut.
The film stars V. N. Anoop Kumar, Meera Vasudevan, and Poornitha, with Chandrabose, Thalaivasal Vijay, Prem, Thennavan, Jayaprakasam, Sakthivel, and Vinoth Kumar playing supporting roles.
Set in 1988, the film is based on a notorious forest brigand named Veeraiyyan who abducted a former minister and held him captive in the forest of Kodaikanal. The police commissioner and his squad attempt to rescue the minister, but the situation escalates into violence, resulting in the death of respected doctor Pari Vallal.
The film was released on 25 July 2008.
