Synopsis
Kannukku Kannaga is a 2000 Indian Tamil-language drama film directed by S. Dhayalan in his debut.
The film stars Murali, Devayani, Vindhya and Raja, and follows the story of Dharma and Devi, siblings who are deeply connected despite an astrologer's prediction that a son born to them would result in Dharma's death.
Devi gives birth to Vijay, which triggers Dharma's predicted demise. To save Dharma, Vijay must die, leading to a desperate act by Devi and Vijay to poison themselves while Dharma is sleeping.
Vijay records this event on a tape and places it near Dharma, who listens to the tape and searches for them. Ultimately, Dharma finds Vijay and Devi and takes them to the hospital to save their lives, but at great personal cost.
The film was released on 26 October 2000.
