Kangal is a 1953 Indian Tamil-language film directed by Krishnan–Panju.
The plot revolves around a doctor husband who attempts to make his wife blind using harmful drops, falsely believing it will improve her eyesight. His motive is to marry his wife's sister.
The film stars Sivaji Ganesan as the brother of Pandari Bai and the lover of Mynavathi, alongside Pandari Bai, S. V. Sahasranamam, Mynavathi, V. K. Ramasamy, M. N. Rajam, J. P. Chandrababu, and C. T. Rajakantham.
The soundtrack was composed by G. Ramanathan and S. V. Venkatraman.
Kangal was released on November 5, 1953.
