Kaanchi Thalaivan is a 1963 Indian Tamil historical action film directed by A. Kasilingam and written by M. Karunanidhi.
The movie stars M.G. Ramachandran as King Narasimha Pallava, also known as Mamallan, who rules Kanchipuram peacefully. The main cast includes S.S. Rajendran, P. Bhanumathi, and C.R. Vijayakumari.
The villains in the film are M.R. Radha and S.A. Ashokan. Produced by Karunanidhi, Kasilingam, and Murasoli Maran under Mekala Pictures, it was released on 26 October 1963.
The plot revolves around the historical rivalry between the Pallavas and Chalukyas. Characters include Poovikraman (working as a sculptor) and Chola Kumari sent by Pulikesi to Kanchi, who is ruled by Mamallan. After being arrested following an encounter with Paranjothi, Chola Kumari receives respect at the court of Mamallan.
