Kalyaniyin Kanavan is a 1963 Indian Tamil-language film directed and produced by S. M. Sriramulu Naidu.
The movie stars Sivaji Ganesan and B. Saroja Devi in the lead roles, with supporting performances from M. R. Radha, S. V. Ranga Rao, T. R. Ramachandran, and T. P. Muthulakshmi.
The plot revolves around Kalyani who goes swimming with friends in a river and is saved by Kathiresan, leading to romance between them. Her father Viswanath approves their marriage after being impressed by Kathiresan's bravery. However, two days before the wedding, Kathiresan receives an anonymous letter inviting him to fight at night near an abandoned bungalow.
After returning from this secret encounter, he abruptly rejects Kalyani on her wedding day.
