Kalyanikku Kalyanam is a 1959 Indian Tamil-language film directed by A. S. A. Sami.
The film stars S. S. Rajendran, Mynavathi, and M. N. Rajam.
The story revolves around Kalyani, an uneducated village girl living with her mother and two brothers. Her uncle Kumaresan facilitates her arranged marriage to his son Sadhasivam, who is a master's degree qualified man in Chennai initially hesitant about marrying someone without formal schooling.
Upon visiting the village, Sadhasivam discovers Kalyani possesses beauty and intelligence that change his mind. However, Kumaresan insists on a substantial dowry: 10 thousand rupees cash and jewellery worth an equal amount for her mother.
Kalyani's father had previously deposited more significant assets – 25 thousand rupees cash and jewellery valued at 10 thousand rupees – with a local Pannaiyar (landed proprietor). This Pannaiyar harbours intentions to take Kalyani as his second wife. Her elder brother Sundaram becomes involved in seeking the jewellery from this character.
