Kairasi is a 1960 Indian Tamil-language film directed by K. Shankar and produced by N. Vasudeva Menon under the banner of Vasu Films.
The movie stars Gemini Ganesan, credited as Ganesh, and B. Saroja Devi in its lead roles.
The plot centers on Sundaram, an honest police constable falsely accused of murder and imprisoned. A judge named Ramanathan adopts Sundaram's son Mohan, who grows up to become a successful doctor.
The story was penned by Kothamangalam Sadanandan, with dialogues by K. S. Gopalakrishnan and K. D. Santhanam. Notably, K. Shankar directed and also served as the editor for this venture released during Diwali on 19 October 1960.
Kairasi was released on 19 October 1960, during Diwali, and became a commercial success. It was later remade in Hindi as Jhoola (1962).
