Synopsis
Kaatrukkenna Veli is a 2001 Indian Tamil-language war drama film directed by Pugazhendhi Thangaraj.
The film stars Sujitha and Sriman, with Khushbu, C. Arun Pandian, Chandrasekhar, Sudhangan, Sakthi Kumar, Arulmani, Kalairani, Diana, and Premi playing supporting roles.
Produced by T. Vellaiyan, the film was released on 14 November 2001.
The story revolves around Manimekalai, a young LTTE freedom fighter who seeks medical help at a hospital in Nagapattinam after being seriously injured during a battle in Valvettithurai (northeast coast of Sri Lanka). She meets doctor Subhash Chandra Bose, who agrees to treat her despite initial reservations due to the illegal nature of her activities.
Manimekalai shares her tragic past with Dr. Bose, revealing how she joined the LTTE after a traumatic event and risking her life for her leg.
