Kani Nilam is a 1987 Indian Tamil-language political satire film directed by Arunmozhi.
The film stars Cho as Arivarasan and features Kutty Padmini as a reporter and Vathiyar Raman as Nagalingam.
Originally titled "Kani Nilam Vendum", the film was released on August 14, 1987, after facing three months of limbo due to censorship issues. The censor board initially refused certification due to its negative portrayal of politicians and Tamil Nadu references, but the film was eventually cleared with a U certificate after 18 cuts.
The movie is a satirical work that explores corruption at the political level seeping down to the grassroots, as stated by Cho.
