Kaadhal

Kaadhal is a 2004 Indian Tamil-language romantic drama film directed by Balaji Sakthivel and starring Bharath and Sandhya.

The film is based on a true story and was produced by S. Shankar, with music composed by Joshua Sridhar.

Aishwarya, a convent-girl from a wealthy family in Madurai, falls in love with Murugan, a young motor-mechanic, whom she encounters in the street.

Faced with an arranged marriage, Aishwarya persuades Murugan to elope with her to Chennai, where they take refuge with his former school friend in a men's hostel.

The film opened on 17 December 2004 to critical acclaim and was a high commercial success, marking Bharath's first successful film as a main lead actor.
