Released on 7 May 1998, the movie follows Gowri Shankar's journey as he travels to Dubai in hopes of improving his family's fortunes, but is encouraged by his mother and Chillakamma to pursue education instead.
The film explores Shankar's relationship with Anitha (also known as Anee), which gets off to a poor start when he inadvertently ruins one of her paintings, leading to tension between them.
