
Iyarkai is a 2003 Indian Tamil-language romantic drama film directed by S. P. Jananathan in his directorial debut.
The film stars Shaam and Radhika, with Arun Vijay making a cameo appearance and Seema Biswas playing a supporting role.
The movie is based on Fyodor Dostoevsky's short story White Nights and revolves around a young woman who is unable to accept the love of a sailor because she is in love with a ship captain who was lost at sea.
It features music composed by Vidyasagar and was made on a budget of one crore (₹10,000,000).
Iyarkai was released on 21 November 2003 and won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Tamil at the 51st National Film Awards in 2004.
