
Ilampuyal is a 2009 Danish-Indian Tamil language film directed by K. S. Thurai.
The story follows a family who attempts to use the Internet for success, but their lives are disrupted when some members of the family are murdered. An international investigation ensues to uncover the truth and mystery behind these murders.
The film stars Vashanth Sellathurai, Poornitha, Karunas, Sriman, Ravishankar, and Sinthuraj in key roles. The music was composed by Vashanth Sellathurai himself.
Produced on a low budget, the film highlights the challenges faced by Sri Lankan Tamil refugees. Shot in Denmark and Chennai, India over 85 days in 2007, Ilampuyal premiered in October 2007 before its official release on May 1, 2009. The satellite rights were acquired by Kalaignar TV.
The film's crew includes K. S. Thurai as director, with his son Vashanth Sellathurai contributing to the music and graphic works. Journalist Morten Bergholt makes a cameo appearance in the film.
