Synopsis
Idhaya Malar is a 1976 Indian Tamil-language romantic drama film directed by Gemini Ganesan and Thamarai Manaalan.
The film is based on the novel Ninaivugal Nilaikkatum, written by Maniyan, and stars Sujatha, Gemini Ganesan, and Kamal Haasan.
Set in a family where Radha, Krishnan's sister, is raised as their daughter, the story follows her unrequited love for Mohan, a tennis player. Despite Krishnan's acceptance of their proposal to marry, Radha discovers that Mohan is actually Sridhar's brother and avoids him. She searches for Sridhar but finds out he is married, leading her to return home and live alone.
The film concludes with Mohan marrying his possessive neighbor, while Radha sacrifices her love.
