Guna is a 1991 Indian Tamil-language psychological romantic drama film directed by Santhana Bharathi and starring Kamal Haasan as the mentally affected protagonist.
The film follows Guna, who upon his release from a mental asylum in Hyderabad, clings to the delusion that he has fallen in love with an angel named Abirami, whom he believes is an avatar of the goddess and destined for their marriage on a full-moon day.
He kidnaps an heiress, identifying her as his Abirami, leading to a unique premise set against the backdrop of Hyderabad and Kodaikanal.
The film features Kamal Haasan, Rekha, and newcomer Roshini in her only screen appearance. The dialogues were written by Balakumaran, cinematography was handled by Venu, editing by B. Lenin and V. T. Vijayan, and the story was developed by Sab John.
