Gomathiyin Kaadhalan is a 1955 Indian Tamil-language film directed by P. Neelakantan and based on the novel of the same name by Devan.
The film stars T. R. Ramachandran, K. Savithri, and K. A. Thangavelu, and was released on September 16, 1955.
The story revolves around Gomathi, a daughter from the Mullaivaasal family, who is interested in arts, and Rajan, the younger son of the opposing Sinnaveli family. Despite their families' long-standing feud, Rajan falls in love with Gomathi after seeing her act in a drama.
Gomathi's father sends her to Madras for studies, where she stays with a family friend named Dharmalingam. Meanwhile, Rajan is also sent to Madras by his family to get trained as a responsible person. The two meet and become acquainted with each other, leading to a romance between them.
