Engal Kuladevi is a 1959 Indian Tamil-language drama film directed by A. Subba Rao and produced by T. R. Sundaram.
The story revolves around Sabapathy, a retired postman with two daughters: Meena (from his first wife) and Shanthi (from his second wife Valli). Sabapathy arranges Meena's marriage to Vasanthan, the manager of a match-box company.
During their first night together, Meena and Vasanthan discover that poison has been mixed into their milk. They leave Sabapathy's house to live elsewhere. Subsequently, Meena becomes pregnant and returns for delivery at her parents' home, giving birth to a son named Kumar.
However, she soon descends into restlessness and madness after the child's birth.
The film stars K. Balaji, Pandari Bai, and Mynavathi, and was released on 4 December 1959.
