
En Uyir Nee Thaane is a 1998 Indian Tamil-language romantic drama film directed by S. P. Rajkumar.
The film stars Prabhu and Devayani, and is a remake of the Telugu film Pelli Chesukundam.
The movie follows Vasu, a rich industrialist who raises his father's illegitimate son after his mother's death. When Janaki witnesses a murder and testifies against the murderer, she is convicted and subsequently raped by the murderer's brother.
With no one to turn to, Janaki finds support in Vasu's home and office. She becomes a mother for Vasu's illegitimate brother and manager at his mill, and Vasu develops feelings for her. However, Janaki turns him down, believing he is doing so out of sympathy.
The film explores their relationship as they navigate their emotions and societal expectations. Released on 19 October 1998, during Diwali, the movie became a decent hit.
