Synopsis
En Uyir Kannamma is a 1988 Indian Tamil-language film directed by Sivachandran in his debut, starring Prabhu alongside Radha and Lakshmi.
The story revolves around Shanmugasundaram (Prabhu), who loves Kannamma but unknowingly impregnates another woman, Ammu (Radha). This leads to village scandal against Ammu, resulting in her death during childbirth while pregnant with a girl. Kannamma holds Shanmugam responsible for this mistake and despises him.
In response, Shanmugam attempts to prove his purity by walking on fire. Meanwhile, Nallamuthu (Lakshmi), Kannamma's fiancé, clashes with her, and Madhavan (S.S. Chandran), a lorry driver initially in love with Kannamma who planned revenge against Shanmugam, is revealed to have conspired with Nallamuthu.
The plot culminates in the union of Kannamma and Shanmugam.
