Synopsis
En Manaivi is a 1942 Tamil-language comedy film directed by Sundar Rao Nadkarni and produced by A. V. Meiyappan.
The film stars Dhanapal Gupta as a wealthy young man who falls in love with Revathy, a dancer girl from the dasi community, despite her 'chastity' being central to her character. The couple marries against Revathy's mother's wishes in the Rama temple with only themselves as witnesses.
Meanwhile, Dr. Vembu Iyer experiences comedic marital tension due to his wife Chellam's feistiness and habit of escaping daily without informing him about activities he dislikes. When Revathy faints at Dr. Vembu Iyer's clinic, mistaken identity sets off a series of misunderstandings between the two couples.
