En Kanavar is a 1948 Tamil-language film directed and produced by Ajith Pictures. The film stars S. Balachander as a wealthy man, alongside S. Nandini as his cousin and V. Chellam as a dancer.
The movie tells the story of Western social tendencies disrupting traditional Indian society, with its plot written by Chaturbhuj Doshi and dialogue by Javar Seetharaman. The film was shot at Ranjit Studios and features music composed by S. Balachander himself, who also sang many of the songs.
Released on 18 February 1948, En Kanavar is remembered as an early work showcasing S. Balachander's talents behind the camera and in front of it.
