Deivame Thunai is a 1959 Indian Tamil-language film directed by Ch. Narayanamurthi.
The movie stars Akkineni Nageswara Rao and Padmini in its lead roles, with Parvathi, a beautiful girl who rejects the marriage proposal of her aunt's son Rathinam, played by another actor, being the central character.
Parvathi's cousin Sekar helps arrange her marriage to Shankar instead. When Rathinam returns from prison, he attempts to ruin their happiness by sending false letters accusing Parvathi and Shankar. This forces Parvathi and her young son Ravi (Shankar's child) to seek refuge with Sekar.
However, they face mistreatment at his hands. Meanwhile, Rathinam's actions lead to Shankar leaving the family after believing a letter sent by Rathinam containing lies about Parvathi's conduct before marriage.
Parvathi takes refuge at Sekar's house with her son Ravi, but is ill-treated by Sekar's wife. In the meantime, Shankar goes to Chennai and saves a girl named Padma from a thief while traveling.
