Chitra Pournami is a 1976 Indian Tamil-language film directed by P. Madhavan and written by Balamurugan.

The story revolves around a character named Sengodan whose parents are murdered by their zamindar on Chitra Pournami day while he is separated from his sister. He vows revenge annually and attempts to kill the zamindar each year. Years later, upon learning that his sister has become the zamindar's cherished daughter-in-law leading a peaceful life, Sengodan faces a conflict between his desire for vengeance and his current relationships.
He falls in love with and marries the zamindar's own daughter, further complicating his internal struggle. The film explores the theme of revenge versus present relationships as Sengodan must decide which is greater.
