Chitra is a 1946 Tamil-language film produced by T. R. Sundaram through Modern Theatres.
The film was directed by Wahab Kashmiri and features the cast of K. L. V. Vasantha, T. S. Balaiah, T. S. Durairaj, K. K. Perumal, M. E. Madhavan, and V. S. Susheela.
The story revolves around a widowed police commissioner's daughter who falls in love with another police officer. Her father hires the officer to uncover treason by someone secretly sending radio messages to enemies.
Alongside two incompetent helpers, the officer investigates and eventually imprisons them all in an isolated bungalow. The heroine is devastated when unable to find her lover and makes unsuccessful efforts to locate him along with her father.
A crucial link is discovered when one of the hero's aids finds a tie-pin gifted by the heroine, which becomes found by her, providing an emotional impact.
The film was released on 30 March 1946 and failed commercially.
