
Chidambarathil Oru Appasamy is a 2005 Indian Tamil-language satirical film directed by Thangar Bachan and starring Thangar Bachan and Navya Nair.
The film tells the story of Elangovan, a school teacher in Chidambaram who spends his time boozing, gambling, and trying out new businesses that always fail. He has two daughters with his wife Thenmozhi, played by Navya Nair.
Elangovan's struggles to find responsibility in life are explored despite the advice of his family and friends. His father and father-in-law try to make him take up serious responsibilities, but he refuses. Elangovan goes on a pilgrimage to Sabarimala after taking Vrath, but returns home without changing his ways.
The film follows Elangovan's continued failures in finding stability and responsibility, while his wife Thenmozhi works hard to educate their children.
