Synopsis
Chandralekha is a 1995 Indian Tamil-language romantic drama film directed by Nambirajan.
The film stars Vijay and Vanitha Vijayakumar in her debut, revolving around an orthodox Brahmin girl who falls in love with a Muslim boy, Rahim. Despite their families' disapproval, the lovers attempt to elope but are caught by militants in the forest.
Released on 23 October 1995 during Diwali, Chandralekha performed poorly at the box office despite its hit songs.
