Burma Rani is a 1945 Indian Tamil-language war-spy film directed by T. R. Sundaram and starring K. L. V. Vasantha alongside Sundaram himself.
The plot centers on a spy ring operating within Japanese-occupied Burma during World War II, led by Mangalam. The storyline involves monitoring General Bakjina, the Japanese army commander, who is noted for being modeled after Adolf Hitler.
A secondary narrative follows an Indian pilot named Ranjit Kumar, one of three pilots whose aircraft crashes in Rangoon and takes shelter at the house of Rani, an Indian dancer. A love story between Ranjit Kumar and Rani unfolds alongside the espionage against the Japanese occupation.
The film was released on 13 April 1945, during Puthandu, and was believed to be lost until 2006, when it was rediscovered and made available on DVD.
