Bhaktha Naradar is a 1942 Indian Tamil-language film directed by S. Soundararajan.
The movie tells the story of Naradar, a travelling singer based on Hindu mythology. The narrative follows Naradar and his adventures with other mythological figures after he acquires a veena.
The film stars Ranjan and Rukmini, and features characters like Saraswathi and her husband Brahma discussing Vishnu's avatar Narada. Mohana, a devadasi, finds an abandoned baby girl whom she names Kalavathi and raises.
After the king seeks to marry Kalavathi but is rejected, Mohana arranges for her daughter to be married at dawn to the first person she meets, who turns out to be Brahma disguised as a sanyasi. A divine baby is born, and named Narada.
