
Bagavathi is a 2002 Indian Tamil-language gangster action film written and directed by A. Venkatesh, starring Vijay and Reema Sen.
The film follows Bagavathi, a tea vendor with big dreams for his younger brother Guna, who gets killed by Guna's girlfriend's father due to his unawareness of her pregnancy.
Bagavathi lives with his brother and meets a girl named Anjali, whom he falls in love with. However, Guna develops a physical relationship with his girlfriend Priya, which is objected to by Priya's father Easwarapandiyan.
The film features supporting roles from Vadivelu, Ashish Vidyarthi, K. Viswanath, Yugendran, and Jai in his film debut, with music composed by Deva.
Bagavathi was released on 4 November 2002 during Diwali and received mixed reviews at the box office, being remade in Kannada as Kashi from Village (2005).
