Azhagan is a 1991 Indian Tamil-language drama film directed by K. Balachander and produced by Kovai Chezhiyan.
The film stars Mammootty in the lead role, alongside an ensemble supporting cast including Bhanupriya, Geetha, Madhoo, and Babloo Prithiveeraj.
Azhagappan, a successful hotelier and father of four small children, has lost his wife in an accident. He becomes the object of affection for college student Swapna, but he refuses her love due to their age difference.
Azhagappan enrolls in a tutorial centre where his teacher Kanmani is smitten with him, but he remains uninterested. However, he falls in love with classical dancer Priya Ranjan.
After their relationship blossoms, egos and differences arise between them, leading to a dramatic confrontation.
Azhagan was released on 25 August 1991 and received critical and commercial success.
